Plixer FlowPro 20.1 Release

Today, we are thrilled to announce that Plixer FlowPro20.1 is generally available!  With version 20.1 FlowPro consolidates the rich capabilities of FlowPro APM and FlowPro Defender into a single hardware or virtual appliance.  This combination will reduce hardware footprint, lower costs, improve resource utilization, and simplify monitoring and security management over the life of the product.  

  What You Get in the Release: 

To benefit customers with large-scale environments or high traffic demands, the Plixer Flow Pro upgraded HW now supports 40 Gb/s packet capture ingestion capacity, improving throughput and reliability to eliminate packet loss at high ingestion rates. Furthermore, the consolidated architecture enables IT and DevOps teams to optimize CPU, memory, and network resource utilization across FlowPro packet capture, performance monitoring & network defense capabilities. 

  Here Is What You Can Expect: 

  • Combined functionality on a single hardware or virtual appliance without performance degradation  
  • Performance optimization to handle continuous traffic without bottlenecks 
  • Consistent performance at 40Gb/s for peak traffic and burst traffic scenarios  

How Do You Get Started: 

To upgrade and experience the value of Plixer FlowPro 20.1.0 you must be running FlowPro version 20.0. Reach out to a customer success rep to bring your older versions up to date and you will be ready to follow simple update steps highlighted below. Simple steps to upgrading your FlowPro installation: 

  • Backup Your Data 
  • SSH to the Plixer FlowPro instance  
  • Download Version 20.1 Update Package 
  • Set the correct permissions for the update script: 
  • Run the update script: 

Once the script completes running, the system must be rebooted to update the kernel and complete the upgrade to FlowPro 20.1.0.
